Russell Bryan Opp

	Russell Bryan Opp, 89, of Tamaroa, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, February 13, 2000 at the Fair View Nursing Center in DuQuoin.
	Russell was a retired farmer.  He was a member of the Friendship Church of Christ at Tamaroa and the Perry County Farm Bureau.  Russell had assisted the tax assessor office and had been on the school board.  He will be remembered for his love of his family and friends and was always there when anyone needed help.  He will also be remembered for the toys he made for his family and friends.
	Russell was born on March 3, 1910 at Pinckneyville, the son of William N. and Katherine E. (Fisher) Opp.
	He married Ruth E. Morrow on December 12, 1936 at Tamaroa and she survives.
	He is also survived by four sons, Donald Gene Opp and wife Frances Y. of Tamaroa, Robert Bryan Opp and wife Judy R. of Tamaroa, William Coleman Opp and wife Mary C. of Mulkeytown and Gale Newton Opp and wife Julie I. of Tamaroa; seven grandchildren, Gene A. Opp and wife Cynthia, Gay Lynn Ashbrook and husband Anthony, R. Scott Opp and wife Heather D., James B. Opp and wife Robin L., Lisa Kay Norman and husband Todd, Jennifer Mae Opp and Jeremy Russell Opp; 10 great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Ashbrook, Alexandra Hope Ashbrook, Allison Joy Ashbrook, Erin Haley Opp, Ashleigh Lynelle Opp, Sidney K. Norman, Makayla Norman, Casey Jordan Opp, Caitlin Ray Opp and Shania Dawn Opp.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
	Funeral services were Thursday, February 17 at 10 a.m. at the Friendship Church of Christ at Tamaroa with Bro. Darrel McCombs and Bro. Richard Crabtree officiating.
	Friends were able to call from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
	Interment was in Campbell Cemetery at Tamaroa.
	Friends may make memorials to the Friendship Church of Christ building fund.
